The signing of the Siletz News Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians of Oregon P.O. Box 549 Siletz, OR 97380-0549 treaty, the first entered into by a tribe of the Oregon Territory (present day Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and western Montana) to be ratified by the U.S. Senate and proclaimed law by the president of the United States, marked the beginning of formal relations with the U.S. by the tribes of the Rogue See Treaty on page 10.
