Between them, they have topped the country singles charts an astounding 42 times and have sold more than 22 million records. Each has an abiding passion for authentic country music. And all three know how to rock a houseful of country fans. Mark Chesnutt, Joe Diffie, and Tracy Lawrence are bringing all that and more to this year’s must-see concert experience - the Rockin’ Roadhouse Tour that comes to Chinook Winds Casino on Nov. 1 and 2. As veteran hit makers, each has been responsible for some of the era’s most memorable songs, and each is able to fill a solo show with chart-toppers. With all three on stage in one evening - including times when all three are on together - fans will get a rare opportunity to experience an entire evening of non-stop hits. And it will be, literally, non-stop. Each of the three has selected key band members, putting together one superband to back them all up. Once the show gets under way, there are no set changes and no downtime. Tickets range from $30 to $50, depending on seat location. Show time is 8 p.m. each evening. Live a Little at the Swing Thing 2002 North American Arm Wrestling Championships Put on your zoot suit and get ready to jump and jive to the swinging groove of a big band. Chinook Winds Casino invites swing lovers to live a little as it presents It’s a Swing Thing, a monthly swing band dance in the convention center. Doors open at 2 p.m. and couples will be offered the chance to brush up on their dancing skills with free dance lessons from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. The dance is scheduled from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and a no-host bar will be available. Music will be provided by the Coastal Swing Band, featuring vocalist Jo Ann Jordan, formerly of the Harry James Orchestra. It’s a Swing Thing will take place on Dec. 1. Tickets, priced at $7 in advance and $10 on the day of the show, are available at the box office. Guests who present their Winner’s Circle card will receive a 10 percent discount on the price of admission. World champion arm wrestler John Brzenk will compete in the 2002 North American Arm Wrestling Championships at Chinook Winds on Nov. 9 and 10. Brzenk won his first championship at age 18 and at age 37 holds more arm wrestling titles than anyone in the world. He is listed in the 2000 Guinness Book of World Records for being the best arm wrestler in the world and did a cameo appearance in the movie Over the Top featuring Sylvester Stallone. More than $ 12,000 in cash and prizes will be awarded to champion arm wrestlers in this event, which includes professional, amateur, and novice tournaments. The professional and novice tournament will be held on Nov. 9 beginning at 1 p.m. Weigh-ins for this tournament will take place Nov. 8 from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Nov. 9 from 10 a.m. to noon. The amateur tournament will begin at 10 a.m. on Nov. 10. Weigh-ins will take place on Nov. 8 from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m., Nov. 9 from 10 a.m. to noon, and Nov. 10 from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Weight classes include professional and amateur men’s right and left hand 0-154, 155-176, 177-198, 199-242, 243*; professional ladies right hand, open; amateur ladies right hand, 0-121, 122-143, 144+; amateur men’s right and left hand, 0-154, 155-176, 177-198, 199-242, 243*; and men’s novice/beginner right and lefthand, 0-154, 155-176, 177-198, 199*. Cash prizes include $300 for first place, $200 for second place, and $100 for third place in the men’s right hand pro classes; $200 for first place, $100 for second place, and $50 for third place in the ladies right and men’s left pro classes. Deluxe awards will be presented to first through third place in all classes. The first 100 entries also will receive a free T-shirt. Tickets are $7/general admission and $10/ringside.
