It’s Happening at Chinook Winds ... Lou Rawls to Perform Siletz Native Crafts Needed I he Chinook Winds Gift Shop is looking for Siletz tribal crafts to sell. “You’ll Never Find (Another Love I Like Mine)” or a better chance to see I the legendary Lou Rawls than when he performs at Chinook Winds Casino & Convention Center on Jan. 25-26. With a career spanning 40 years, Rawls’ distinctive and instantly recognizable voice has established him as one of the industry’s true superstars. He’s received four Grammy Awards and 13 nominations. He’s a legend in pop and R&B music and a talented I actor with roles in television (“Baywatch Nights”) and feature films such as “Leaving Las Vegas.” He’s also been recognized for his work with three Garfield The Cat animated specials. In 1966, he received national recognition and critical acceptance with his first album, “Lou Rawls Live”. The success of the first album led to the album “Love Is A Hurtin’ Thing,” which received a Grammy nomination for Best R&B Solo Vocal Performance. In 1967, he received his first Grammy for Best R&B Vocal Performance on “Dead End Street,” which also was nominated for Best R&B Recording. More nominations and awards followed over the next several years. Northwest Casino Chip & Memorabilia Show Lou Rawls and began his association with Gamble and Huff and “You’ll Never Find (Another Love Like Mine).” The song was the ballad classic of the year and was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Performance. He also was nominated for a Grammy for Best R&B Vocal Performance for “Groovy People.” His career has continued with quality recordings that have garnered several ^ward nominations. Rawls continues to perform hundreds of concerts each year and this is your chance to see this legendary performer. The shows are at 8 p.m. on Jan. 25 and Jan. 26, with ticket prices ranging from $25 to $40, depending on seat location. Coastal Carvers 10th Annual Show and Sale The Coastal Carvers of Lincoln City invite you to their 10th annual “Artistry in Wood” show and sale on Jan. 19-20 at Chinook Winds Casino. The free art show will have more than 60 exhibitors with fine wood carvings on display for the public to enjoy, plus carving demonstrations both days. Supplies for the hobbyist or professional as well as the carvings on exhibit will be for sale. Items will be raffled throughout both days. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to local non-profit organizations. Hours for the show and sale are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Jan. 19 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Jan. 20. The Buffet Has It All! Entrees on the Chinook Winds’ buffet now are international from Saturday through Thursday, covering a variety from the Pacific Rim to Italian to seafood. Whatever your taste buds desire, it’s here waiting for you! And on Saturday, add prime rib to the international cuisine. Seafood lovers still can enjoy the mouth watering Friday night seafood and prime rib buffet, which offers the largest variety of ocean delicacies to be found on the Oregon Coast. This is the second Casino Chip & Casino Memorabilia Show to be held at Chinook Winds. Casino chips and memorabilia have become very popular on the collectibles market. Admission to the event is free and is open to guests age 21 and older. The show runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on March 9 and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on March 10..
