An Australian native from the “land down under,” Arledge spent most of her career in the non-gaming side of hospitality. She moved to Nashville, Tenn., and held several food and beverage management positions at the Opryland Hotel, a 3000-room property with 650,000 square feet of catering/ exhibit space and home of the Grand Ole Opry. After several promotions and six years with the Gaylord-Opryland Hotel Company, Arledge decided to spread her wings and join the Sheraton Nashville Downtown Hotel, a franchised property of Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Inc., as the director of Food and Beverage. When asked why she chose to come to Chinook Winds, Arledge Roo Arledge replied, “I think it was the friendliness of the people at Chinook Winds, that impressed me the most! Chinook Winds is an exciting gaming resort and Lincoln City is a marvelous town. I think it’s one of America’s best kept secrets and because I grew up on the oceanfront, as most ‘Aussies’ do, living by the ocean again is an added bonus. “The Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians have so much history, and it’s very fascinating. It’s inspiring to see the Tribal Council so focused in exceeding guest expectations and enhancing employee relations. I accepted the position because it will give me the opportunity to work with great people, the Tribal Council, management and staff, in an exhilarating, challenging, and energetic atmosphere. My goal is to ‘wow’ the Chinook Winds’ guests with friendly, efficient service while embellishing them in culinary delights. My mission is to help establish Chinook Winds as a premier casino and destination point, not only in the state of Oregon, but nationally as well as internationally.” Tanya Tucker in Concert Chinook Winds Casino & Convention Center is proud to present one of country music’s five top-charting female recording artists of all-time, Tanya Thcker, in concert on March 9 and 10. Tïicker’s career was launched two decades ago with “Delta Dawn,” her first hit at the tender age of 13. Since then, she’s had innumerable hits, been the topic of conversation in many tabloids, become the mother of a son and a daughter, and received a multitude of country music awards. With 28 albums to her credit and about 200 performing dates per year, Tucker continues to delight audiences all over the world. “Soon,” “Love Me Like You Used To,” “It’s A Little Too Late,” “Two Super Bowl drawing winners include (I to r) Linda Hamilton of Central Point, Ore., who won $1,000 in the Rogue River Restaurant & Lounge; Everett Jensen from North Pole, Alaska, and Barbara Prewitt of Lincoln City, Ore., who each won $5,000 in the casino-wide drawing.
