FweB Siletz News Congratulations, Sis! I w ou ld like to congratulate m y sister, Tori, for doing such a great job dancing at the 1st anual spring com petition p ow wow. M y sister took third place in teens wom en traditional. We are all proud of you. Love your sis, M isty Moceikis laving memory ofmp dad - Archie <S&en Growing up in the Siletz area, being there and caring, I was always around Elders - always there as a friend. As the years passed and with the dedication and hard work of a handful of caring tribal members Restoration happened. The Siletz tribe was being awakened w ith life. Jobs - for the tribal members were happening. I w as encouraged to apply for the CHR job. I thought it was wrong to get paid to help the Elders! M y husband, Rob, said "Mom, apply for the CHR job - you're there for the Elders." "You'll do a good job." "Be a good listener." "Elders need a friend." Ad Hoc Constitution I applied the last day with Alice Werth. We were interviewed at the old Chemawa School. Alice and I were hired. I guess w e said something right as others had applied too. Committee meets monthly at area offices After I came home knowing I w as hired I thought I better go over and tell m y dad. C om m ittee m embers Gladys Bolton, Teresa Collins, Dave Viles, Don H udson, and Edell Richards thank all w ho have offered their concerns and ideas, regarding the revision of our tribal constitution. We w ill be meeting on a monthly basis at our four area offices, and ask for your continued support and participation. I said to him, "Dad you won't believe it, but I applied for the CHR job w ith the tribe and they actually picked m e for one of the jobs." Dad said, "What will you have to do?" I said to be there for the Elders, for the sick, and to help our people. Dad said, "Enjoy your job, Maxine, one day it w ill fold up!!"
