Pamela McConnell, < the very critical Mrs. Boyle, wi one. She projected her voice wi and added some humor to tl scene. The audience loved Rii Burrough’s characterization i the young, eccentric Christoph Wren.' He prompted mat laughs, as did Deborah Hun phrey’s portrayal of Mmi Paravicini. Her Italian accent w convincing. The set was cleverly design! by David Smith-English. It ii eludes an entry, some stairs, ai two doors which supposedly lea to other rooms. The fumishin| have to accommodate seven ca members at a given time. It is ea dent that a great deal of work w involved in the construction. The costumes, by Merril Lyn Taylor, add much to ea< character study. “The Mousetrap” opened at Clackamas Community College’s McLoughlin Theatre last Thurs day and caught the audience’s at tention from beginning to end. The play by English playwright, Agatha Christie, is set in a small country inn, not far from London. It opens with the arrival of guests during a snow storm and the discussion of a re cent murder in the town nearby. Then one of the guests is also murdered and suspicion is pointed in many directions. Unless you are familiar with the plot, it is doubtful that you’ll be able to predict the outcome. The quality of the performance was appreciated by the audience. The play was well attended and the applause was enthusiastic. Overheard comments were, “It was every bit as good as they said it was,” and “We watch so much T.V., it’s good to see something different,” “It was every bit as goo Charisse Smith and Brett True as they said it was. ” Branch portray Mollie and Giles Ralston, owners of Monkswell Manor.
