This would provide citizens with relief months earlier and provide them with certainty and greater confidence in the system. Cathleen Callahan - Citizens who are in the court system want to be heard and have their issues resolved, in a timely manner. Judges must find a rational practical legally responsible resolution that enforces the law, holds people accountable, changes lives for the better and keeps the community safe while interpreting and applying the law to the unique facts and circumstances of each case. I have the ability to ask the right questions with patience and empathy to get to the heart of the issue before the court while treating the people with respect and patience. Those who do come to court for traffic tickets, a child custody case, because there is a dispute over a family member’s will, or for any other reason, expect to be listened to, treated with respect, and to get the case resolved fairly and within a reasonable time period. I am committed to ensuring that everyone who has business with Circuit Court will have that kind of experience with us, and I will continue working hard to deliver it. Agnes Peterson - I will work hard as Judge, make firm and fair decisions and continue to fight to end age discrimination everywhere it exists. My Philosophy: The Law is the greatest fortress of freedom. It should be blind to the color of skin, age of the participant, gender, political or sexual persuasion, or the handicap of mind or body of anyone seeking its Justice. It is the foundation of fairness . All should have fast and fair justice from those serving them as judges. J u d i c i a l Qualities I consider essential: A Judge should be hard-working, professional, courteous, considerate, listen to everyone and everything, be studious, be willing to make unpopular decisions that are right according to evidence and law, and at all times be a credit to the great legal profession.
