(6- » ROAD HOUSE TURNS A BAD MOVIE INTO BRILLIANT THEATER , iroadway, Missing Patrick Swayze? Here's the thing: you probably miss Ghost Swayze or Dirty Dancing Swayze, perhaps even Donnie Darko Swayze. You probably don't miss Road House Swayze. Road House was more of a TNT- caliber version of the late actor, the Swayze movie that you'd watch with whiskey- weighted eyelids at the end of a long night out as you fell asleep on the couch. However, some of the city's biggest names in improv and radio have succeeded in turning the flick's full-throttle craptastic charm into one of Portland's most fun stage events. Witness the transformation when Road House: The Play takes over the Someday Lounge. Based on the patently awful 1989 movie of the same name, Road House tells the story of Dalton, a bouncer who's enticed to move from New York to small-town Missouri in order to clean up a rough nightclub. While in Missouri, Dalton uncovers a throbbing vein of corruption running through the place, and fights back against the brutish Brad Wesley's extortion and menace of the peaceful locals.
