The Double-Vote Offer Which opened yesterday morning and closes Wednesday, February 1- at S p. in., will show a big change in the standings of a large number of the con testants. On the last night of the eon test, if you find (ourself a loser by just a few thousand votes you will be Surry that you did not take more nil vantage of the six days of the double vote offer. Gather in Your Promises. Have you any promises of subscrip tions f If so, when do you expect to get them? You had better put forth your best efforts this week and get them all in, for you will not net as many votes later on as you do now. Some of the contestants have heard it rumored that there will be more votes given later on in the contest than are given this week. This rumor is with out foundation whatever, for it is KM l'MATM'AIJ.V stated by hte contest management that you will not be given any more votes on subscript ions later on than are given at the present time. Some Changes. Have taken place in the different dis tricts in the last day or so. In No. 1 Miss Browning Timlin stilt manages to Imld first plai-e, ami with the votes that site has polled today sin- lias a sebstan tial bad. although in the same district Miss filadys Wilson is a very ebe sec ond. Mrs! I .1. McMalnm of the Nush Hotel has not been polling a larg-- num ber of votes the past day or so. How ever, Mrs. McMnhoii says that her friends need not worry, as she is pre paring considerable of a surprise for I he other cnmliihites in the contest. hi Histriet No. 2, Miss Helen ('..ss continues to maitnain the lead, but as to how long she will hold that position remains to be seen, as the other con testants in that district vow that they i lit end to be aim my he whim rs at the end of the race. Miss Kffie Crimes, in histrict Xo. 4, takes first place from Miss .l-eiinie hewis of Central Point, who has held it for the past two or three days. How ever, we would not advise Miss Crimes to rest on her oars now. as there are several energetic candidates in this dis trict who claim that they are to be sat isfied with nothing but posit ion No. 1 at the close of the contest. In District No. Miss Mabelle Par sons co n t i lines to maintain t he lead, in fact has held it now for several days. Miss Parsons is well and favorably; known in her home town and has the! .support of any number of friends who; ar doing all in their power to see their; favorite declared the winner of the au tomobile. Hut at the same time Miss Parsons has some strong opponents in lo-r districts who are straining every m re to be among the winners, and as to who will hold the position at the final count is an interesting study. Get in and Get Busy. Make every moment count while the double vote offer is in effect. If you have lost ambition and are a trifle dis couraged. This Is Your Opportunity To get in and place yourself on a par with the other contestants in your dis trict. This is tin best returns from Knglish sales yet j reported here for the season. An in teresting fact connected with the ship j ment is that the consignment included jail grades of apples from It1;, to 5-tier, the smaller size running as many as ' lL'S apples to the box. brouirht the iiigh j est price. This apparently makes good j Mr. Merritt 'so claim that it does not i pay the grower to thin his crop too closely, as from his past experience he has learned that tin smaller sizes in the London market bring often a better price than the extra fancy sizes. This shipment of one extra large car. com prising SI.", boxes, was the product of 55 trees and netted the grower $1711.50, ; or something better than per tree.
