These old bonds are issued to raise mouey to enlarge and improve the print ing plant and to continue the publica tion in a better form of the Daily Tri bune and the Semi-Weekly Southern Oregoeian. i It is desired to make it still Detter. It is proving inadequate to handle the volume of business which the rapid growth of the cHv insures. It is desired to muke the daily cover all the towns of the Koguo River val ley and make it in every wuy a news paper that the entire vulley will be proud of. All of the mouey secured by the sale of these bonds will be invest ed in the property, all of which will be subject to the mortgage giveu as security for the bonds. Medford ia destined to be a large city, its daily a great newspaper worth many times the original investment. Medford Publishing Company. The Medford Publishing company is composed of reputable business men of Medford, who have backed their judg ment with their mouey. it is incorpo which only part has been subscribed. The balance is treasury stock. Of the rated for $10,000 cnpitul stock, of stock already issued, a majority is in the name of G. Putnam, editor and man ager. I here is no "water" in the stock, it nil represents money actually paid in. The by-laws of the company provide that the editor and manager alone is respeiiHible tor the editorial and business policy of the paper. The dircctois of the concern are the follow ing well-known business men of Med ford: W. J. Vnwter, F. Osenbrugge, .1. F. lieddy, If. C. Stoddard, C. R. Ray, G. Putnam. Ti. G. Smith mid J. h. Olwell. All of these gentlemen, with the exception of Putnam, took stock merely from a public-spirited stand point, to secure for Medford a good luily newspaper. None of t.hent exer cises jhiv control over the nohev of tne paper, Not a Speculation. Tf yon are looking for speculation, don't buy these gold bonds. They are not a speculation. They are an invest nieut. These gold bonds will not make yen , rich, but they will give you a good re-1 turn upon the money invested. Vou will not put in a dollar exitecting to get out ten dollars, for you won't do it. But you eon put in your dollar and be sure of getting it out again with good inter est also. Again, these gold bonds beat ouv scheme of hiding coin in tin boxes or stowing it away in safety deposits vaults. It keeps the money in circuit tion and helps muke times better, as well as encouraging u praiseworthy enterprise. It is to the iuvestlng, not the specu lating public that these bonds are of fered. The best financiers in the city recommend them. Tht Paper's Tntmt. A great future lies before this eoui- try, and before this newspaper. The j property is built upon business lines : and ruu upon business principles.. Its policy is progressive, forceful and in dependent. Its manager has hud many venrs experience in practical newspa per work. The newspaper projert, ies owued are bound to bw great news papers, because they represent the' hole people aud Atandiug for the peo ple, will be supported by the people, The daily has grown wonderfully since the present manager took charge. He i found a baukrupt institution with notb-' ing but debts, ill-will and prepaid circu lation. It was out of fnvor with the public and with the advertiser. Look at its e4umni today. H is in favor with both the public and the advertiser. The change has been wrought with but little money, in a very short space of lime. A still greater change will be wrought in the next tew months.
