Joseph-Wallowa Lake: Good con dition. tinker-Cornucopia Highway. Bakor-Halfway: 111 miles macadam; 21 miles ' graded roadbed, Hiilance fair county roud. New grade on lower Powder river between Love Bridge and Black Bridge now open to traffic. , . Oregon-Washington Highway. Pendleton-Washington State Line: Paved. .Pendleton-Pilot Hock: 5 miles good earth road; 10 miles macadam. Pilot Kock-Vinson: 15.7 miles of macadam in good condition. Vinson-Buttcr Creek-Jones Hill: County road. Very rough and rocky but passalde. Jones Hill-Hcppner: Standard grnde in good condition. Hcppner-Gilliam County Line: En tire distance macadamized and in ex cellent condition. Gilliam County Line - Heppner Junction: Good cc-ndition except where surfacing operations are underway- Careful driving required. Watch out for caution signs. AF William Hohcnzolleru is quarreling with the Dutch over the payment of taxes. He is now engaged in a dis pute with the municipal authorities of Doom over the question of local assessments. The former German emperor refuses to pay, contending that the municipality is nut entitled to its demund because he came to Holland under compulsion. This forecast has meaning for 'he physician as well! as for the housewife.
