Thursday at the Scott Bros, sawmiil on Smith's Moun tain, when Gerald Herring, the 12-year-old son of George Herring shot himself through the leg while hand ling a 22-calihrr rifle, the hall pass ing through the leg just lielow the knee, but. as no hones were broken the wound is causing but little trouble ' and the boy will soon be about again. Lester Victor, an old time resilient of Smith Mountain, arrived at Minam Thursday ami expects to visit for j some time wnn relatives and old-time ! friends.
