(Special) Last Thursday morning Carl Christiansen's team run away, tearing the rig to pieces. - The team was- standing in front of Mr. Christiansen's butcher shop when they became frightened. Mr. Christiansen caught hold of the collar, thinking he could get hold of the. bridled He could not stop, them, however, so he let loose, falling in front of the weels. The wheels passed over his lower limbs, crippling him so he could not be around for a few days. ' ' ' - ' Clyde J.' Thomas, of Portland, is here to buy some sheep to feed this winter. Jos eph, this week. "; The stock judging team did not go to Enterprise Tuesday as it was plan ned because the judge of the contest did not arrive until Thursday at noon. Miss Hilda Spray, of the Divide, en tered school last Monday. The high school has gained 50 per cent over last year. The attendance is also good. The record for the high school was' set last nflonth when, the attendance was 98.4 per cent ' The girls of the seventh and eighth grades and the high school are play ing captain ball under the direction of Miss Stranchan. It is a healthy ex ercise and there is no danger of the players getting hurt. . The Joseph schools were suspended Thursday and Friday so the students could visit the county fair. Tom Tucker of Chinook, Montana, is here visiting friends and relatives. Mr, and Mrs. Frank Vaughn and son, Floyd, and Mr. and Mrs. A. N. Adams, Mr. Vaughn's parents, left Joseph Tuesday for California, where they intend to locate. Mrs. .Roxy Vaughan also went with them. .. .
