BIG DEMAND FOR PICKERS AND ' PACKERS ON Crop Must Be Handled Quickly With Much Care as Well. and par Fruit, growers around La Grande are busy with the 1913 prune crop. The fruit is plentiful this year and is now in 'its prime. The crop must be handled carefully and quickly, to prevent waste and to get it to the consumer in first class shape. Conse quently the .demand for packers and pickers from the produce dealers is' great. Excellent varieties of the fruit are to be found in all local markets and are retailing at a fair price, although the retail dealers do not attempt to handle any large quantities of the fruit .
