BUSINESS Ml EN ENJOY TRIP TO ENTERPRISE YESTERDAY With special program staged for the La Grande delegation which about 150 strong visited Enterprise on a special train yesterday, the Wallowa County Fair association acquitted it self in a remarkable manner and sent its yisitois home delighted and with the very kindest words for he his pitality of the sister county and com plimentary words for the exhibits that are ofrming the background for the best fair ever held in that county. time as an excursion train was ever run. The entire tainload of people were feeling fine. They were taking a day off and at the same time attending a neighboring celebration. There was nothing but good humor abroad, but there was plenty of that Band Is the Live Card. Ana the band proved the life of the occasion, "Franka Bay and Jima Snodgrass" were on the job every minute and all other members had the same spirit. The matter of bet ter police protection for Baker was the subject of discussion at the meet ing of the city commissioners yester day afternoon. But the association made up a special program of buckaroo stunts, bulldogging the steer, roping contests and other events which were well put on. Leaving at 5:30 in the evaning the party returned home without' accident and with a feeling of decided satisfac tion at having gone. . The band con tinued its excellent service oh the homeward journey and made the trip a splendid one, swer special calls, while the regular , policemen were on their beats. ' Another suggestion was to keep all i policemen at the station instead of patrolling the streets, but many ob jections to this scheme were met with, as it was pointed out that the officers could in no way detect a fire or catch a hold-up from the sta tion.
