On the ', 18th Mountain View Ranch, near Starkey, was visited with the worst storm we ever witnessed, some of the hail stones were an inch in diameter, covering the ground perfectly white like a "snow storm. It did great damage to the timothy 'crop also fall wheat while over at 'Starkey-Hbere was no damage a one even in places no hail fell. , Wm., Conditt and Wm. Quite a number from La Grande' and Pendleton have been trying their luck in the fishing line. Friends have heard from Mrs. J. F. Alden and she is very much pleased with her new home In Portland.
