Remember Two Days of Big Fun eighth grade teacher in the Wallowa public schools, to J. M. Bledsoe, oc curred in Ontario Sunday last at the home of Rev. and Mrs. Thomas Johns. Both are highly respected and well known people in Wallowa, They will reside in Boise, Idaho. Father P. J. Driscoll, of La Grande, and Father Campion of Condon, were in Wallowa Tuesday, between trains. Father Murphy accompanied them back to La Grande,- returning Wednesday. Orange' Bishop, who has been in California, the past two years, re turned to Walla Tuesday to spend the summer. At a quiet school election held on Monday C. T. McDaniel was re-elected a member of the school board and E. A. Searle was re-elected clerk. Scarce ly any of the electors knew that an election was to have been held and only 15 ballots war cut . W. I. Hunter, of Sumner, sold his 2M acre ranch to G. E. Coleman dur ing the past week.- The deal being put through by L. Couch. The staff of school teachers for the ensuing year is practically complete. Only three of the former teachers be ing re-engaged. The seventh and eighth grade teachers have not as yet been selected. The applicants for these positions are numerous. The staff as is stands, will teach as follows: For mer principal, Roy Conklin, has been engaged; assistant principal, George McCoy, Walla Walla, Wash.; Domestic Science and stenography, Miss Lang University of Minnesota; sixth grade Miss Coffey, Oregon State Normal; fifth grade, Miss Holley, Joseph; Fourth Grade, Miss Anna Brace, WaL Iowa; third grade, Miss McNulty, On tario; second grade, Miss Ethel Mitch ell, Wallowa; first grade, Miss Olga Post, Wallowa. Earl James left Wednesday for Pleasant Valley. , Mrs. George Miller and daughter Susie, returned Wednesday from a few days' visit at La Grande with Mrs. - Miller's daughter, Mrs. Curtis Maxwell. Wm. Spence returned Tuesday from a two weeks' vacation at Portland. Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Chapman left for Milton Wednesday, making the trip overland, with intentions of locating Ray Johnson and Mike Hayes ara representing the high school of Wal lowa in the intercholastic track meet at Spokane. Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Holmes returned Tuesday from a pleasant vacation spent on the coast. Mrs. Anna Brown is here from Washington on a visit to her mother Mrs. Sarah, Groot Miss Marie Mitchell arrived home Thursday from Monmouth, where she has been attending state normal school. The division of the Minam and Wal lowa national forests which has been under consideration for some time, has finally been completed. Deputy Sup ervisor Barnes left Wallowa Tuesday for Baker, where he will be acting supervisor of the Minam national for est The Minam forest is that part of the Wallowa forest lying south of the Minam Eagle Cap, south fork of the Ininaha river. The Wallowa for est will now comprise all that part ly in? in Wallowa county, with the ex ception of a small portion south of the Imnaha river. N. J. Billings, dep uty supervisor of the Wallowa fores nr.d formerly from the Fremont nn J tional forest, Lakeview, arrived in IY.'allowa last week. Supervisor Har ris is now on a trip over the northern i portion of the forest. The Chico-Billy Meadow telephone line has been re paired and partially rebuilt.
