After one Inning of hits and old-time form in base running. La Grande went up; at the same time Bob Smith and his .stalwarts settled down to as fine a game of baseball as one wants to see. The diametrically opposed condition of things of course gave,-Union the game, and that by a score of 13 to 2. tit was a stinging defeat and marked : the first aerial venture of the La Grande team this year. Mclnnls was at a loss to offer anything distasteful to the erstwhile weak batters of the Union team.
