An interesting feature of the Luder
milk trespass case on trial before Jus
tice of the Peace Williams yestermiy
afternoon .was the testimony of tliti de
fendant himself, who at time- was al
most beyond the control of tho attor
neys. Laudermllk Insisted upon giving
conversations between himself and the
official a of the , land office and others
regarding his right to go upon iho
land as a homesteader. This, of course
was strenuously objected to by Attor
ney Cochran who is prosecuting the
case for Townley. Objections, huivevc r

could not be choked off.
The tables were soon turned, how
ever, and at the new angle the Incor
rigible defendant won out again. Up

ran attempted to draw out tho name
of the man who first told Ladermilk

Townley's field was vacant land. But
when the question was asked Louder
milk instantly shot back:
"Since you object to convarjations
