This year's cereal crop will be among the greatest ever grown In the Vnited States, according to the esti mates contained in the August wheat, corn and cereal crop, report issued today by the Department of Agricul ture. A gain of more than 700,000,000 bushels In all grains over last year is Indicated, and the bumper yield of three yeurs ago will probably be ex ceeded. Crops of corn and oats will likely trnash all records.. A loss In winter wheat as compared with a year ago will be offset by a larger yield of spring wheat, which will bring the to tal to a considerable excess over the 3908 crop. Some Important Interests 1n the trade figure that the consump tive demand has grown enough to ab sorb this difference and that before the entire crop is harvested we will run Into a period of actual shortages rather than a surplus. It is also fig ured that foreign requirements easily will take all wheat which is not ned fd for domestic purposes, as crop con ditions are generally understood to be unsatisfactory In . most of t he Old World grain raising districts.
