Eastburn Ordinance . 430, iSeries 19U9. An ordinance amending section 1 ot Ordinance No. 425, Series 1909. THE CITY OF LA GRANDE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: I Section 1. That Section 1 of Ordi nance No. 425, Series 1909, be, and the same is hereby amended so as to read as follows: Section 1. That all Opera houses, theaters, churches, School houses, public halls, lodge rooms, club rooms and all other buildings used for pub lic Catherines: all office birHiukS. hotels, boarding houses and lodging houses, shall have at least one front on a public street, and shall have in front suitable means of entrance and exit; all outside doors in such build ings shall be not less than four feet wide, and shall open outwards; all doors at the head of stairways shall be of the same width as the stair ways and shall open outwards. Ex Its shall be provided in such build ings on the second floor and on all floors higher up, leading to stairs, or ladders, built of iron or some other fire-proof material, which shall at all times be kept In good repair, and all exits kept tree from obstruction, and In condition to furnish a safe descent to the ground for the Inmates ot such buildings. Over each ot such exits there shall be on the Inside the word, "EXIT" painted In large let tera, not less than six inches high; In no case shall there be less than two such exits to each ot such build- bers voting therefor.
