Union county cherries withstood
the rainfall of the past nours
splendidly, and notwithstanding that
the precipitation was almoBt one Inch,
little damage was done.
The chief danger lay In cherries
readv for the pickers. Tendencies of
ripe cherries are to burst open when
rain falls too generously, but accord
ing to local' fruit buyers, this con
dltion does not exist today. Picking
is delayed, but as fruit matures slow
ly under damp climatic conditions,
i there is but little danger of the crop
' suffering by over ripeness.
