It was a peculiar game. In the first Nelson was slug ged JeiTllfirally, and. abetted by. er rors by Stoddard and Childers, Elgin was able to tinkle the pan 'five times. But there it ended. From then on. La Grande played soma of the .cln8i8t ball seenhere this year, .Nelson throw ing splendidly and the team backiug him up to the last notch. Elgin was loose and: seemed unable to brace up and work together. While the game was one sided, La Grande never let up for a moment, and thereby pleased the fansvwho failed to see much ball play ing when Elgin had their outs.
