Ucik & Suiiou Ml JUDGES Mil County Judge J. C. Henry left last evening for Portland where he will attend the proposed organization meet ing of all county Judges and commis sioners In Oregon. Judge Messick of Baker County Is father of the organi zation and the judges throughout the state are rapidly adopting the plane. The meeting was held Jn the Portland Commercial club today, and Its pre sumed th& Messick will be elected president. Oregon assessors and tax collectors have similar organizations, but the Judges thus far, have acted in dividually in all things. Very pretty medals, gold' and silver for first and second places respectively In the county meet at Union this year, have arrived, and as La Grande scored 86 1-2 points in that meet, It goes with out Baying that a large percentage of the gold and silver came to La Grande.
