THE CITY OF LA GRANDE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: , Section 1 That the Mayor and Re corder be, and they are hereby authorized to enter Into a con tract with Chas. Taai, for the gra ding of a portion of L avenuo, and the grading and filling of the City Hall block, at a price r.ot more than" $800. Section 2 Inasmuch as the contrac tor Charles Taal has proceeded with the work described in Sec tion 1 hereof, and will soon hae th same completed, now there fore, in order to preserve the comfort, and well bain of the citizens of tho community, and to protect the credit of the city, an emergency is hereby declared and this ordinance shall h in force and take effect on and after its approval by the Mayoi.
