R. & S., has been made train auditor on the main line and will run from Pen dleton Portland run. Hear Admiral and Mrs. V. R. Harris arrived this morning to visit at the home of Mr. and Mrs. T. s. Harris. They will visit in La Grande a short time and then go east where the navy department has ordered the admiral to report for duty. J. F. O'Bryant. manager of the Haines Mercantile company, is here to attend the meeting of the creditors of W. R. Klvette. Clarence Whitenian of tlie V'hlioir.an garage was in Imbler today calling on prospective auto owners of that section. Mrs. Mary Kirk returned today from Raker City. Mrs. Hanna and Mrs. Wright will remain for a day'B visit with friends. John Shaw, one of the most prom inent and well to do farmers in the South end of the county, i down from his home on Wolf Creek. Thomas H. Parker, the forest su pervisor, returned from Rtarkey lute yesterday afternoon and went to his home at North Powder on this morn ing's train. Mr. and Mrs. Parker of Portland were passengers on this morning's east bound train and were joined here by Mrs. A. T. Hill who with the Port land people 'will go the Hill ;anch ttt Prarie City. Koss Goodman arrived in the city this morning, coming from Wapato, Wash., to join Mrs. Goodman, who has been here for some time visiting rel atives. He will remain here a few days. J. A. Kennedy of Boise arrived this morning and from now will act as piano player at the Scenic theatre. He is an expert in his line. In addition to playing the piano he will have charge of the Scenic orchestra. Rev. W. S. Seeman, retiring mod erator of the Eastern Oregon Presby tery, returned today from Baker City, accompanied by his wife, who was one of the officers at the missionary meeting of the presytery. . Clarence Johnson came in from La Grande last week and will make his home with his grandparents. Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Beecher of Aide Slope. Enterprise News Record. II. H. Holmes is over from Joseph. Manager Meyers will take his high school ball tossers to Cove tomorrow to play the postponed game. They are hoping for pleasant weather.- The rummage sale given by the lad les of St. Peter's guild to at the Child's brick building on First street,-is be ing well patronized and will continue throughout tommorrow.
