From an editorial In the Portland .Telegram we din the following: "Tbe city beautiful" la the poetic dream of good citizenship. It is a dream fast being realized. The Idea has advanced into this new country of ours as a pioneer In civic culture. For a number of yeara people of ad vanced tuste have been earnestly ' f reaching the doctrine, and the re sult of that preaching hits been a measure of public activity in. the cre ation of civic centers, the laying 'nut of parks and the construction of drive ways and boulevards. There has also been a marked and general movement toward inuicipul cleanliness beyond what was known a generation ago." It Is a source of considerable pleas ure to those who have the welfare of this city of ours at heart to know that the awakening of La Cirande is at band. To say that we are already doing all that we can do to beautify our town would not bo true; but that -we are doing something every one knows; that we are going to do more Js' certain.
