Proprietor Caplete Machine Shops aad Foundry . The body manufacture. In a duy enough poisons to kill 10 men. Why do they not kill It, then? Because they are taken out how tine? Ev ery organ, very nearly, help to burn them up, or cast them out. Some times one or another of these organs does not work well; what then hap pen! to these poisons? They perforce stay In, but they may be antldoted and stay in only as waste, not as poi son. Waal In the System. We then have onei or another of a great varie't yot illba..-. ' We may have rheumatism the. flowing of "rheum" as It was anciently called (and the name, like the disease, has hung on). Into one or another part of tiie body. For, as when a room Is cluttered up with waste, the waste will accumulate In the corners, along the sides and under the, tables: so these "rheums' tend to gather In some of the loose spaces, as, for In stance, In the Joints, where they make trouble. ' They may be deposited In the muscles, or other places there are various formk of rheumatism. Bad weather, bad 'dinners and all sorts of conditions will increase the waste, and Increase the rheumatism. Now, poisons are poisons because they attack the living chemical mole cules of the body and affect them. If poisons come slowly enough, the liv ing molecules will simply give up the part that Is attacked and affected and make more of it thus the poisons are neutralized and made harmless except for simple waste. But sometimes, In doing this, the living molecules are compelled to make changes In them selves, or are themselves diseased. with the result that we have altera tions in the Joints (or other parts) and diseased tissue around them as In swollen bones of articular rheuma tism. There are other results, all on the same principle. To get at the poison, we must get at the organ or organs that are not doing their work right, we must gt at the blood or nerves which fall to keep up to the standard; to get at the blood or nerves we must get at the whatever it is that is interfering with them. No organ goes wrong of Itself it does not go wrong without some compelling Influence. Injury tlio Beginning. 80, at last, we come down to the compelling Influence Irritation, in jury. uch things as the osteopathic physician examines for, locates and re moves. The great majority of cases not only of rheumatism, but of all 'lasses of diseases we osteopaths find to be caused by structural derange ments, mechanical maladjustment of parts, which irritate cells by pres sures that disturb the vital currents that Is, the flow of blood and the folw of nerve force throughout the body. Such disturbances generate the pri sons that make rheumatism. Osteo pathic success in treating cases of rheumatism ha been so remarkable that many practitioners have been able to found their professional suc cess upon such cases. It is worth trying. And If success crowns the ef iort, it should open your eyes 10 lue .act that here is a practice which looks deeper" than symptoms as they arise, and which socres a general advance m treating of disease by an appeal to the iletpeal principle of nature the structure of the body. Osteopathic clealth. IStrire Is Ended. Hermlston, Dec. 9. For the first time since the organization of Hermis ton's city government harmony pre vailed In this town yesterday during the election. Instead of the bitter lights which marked the two previous city elections there was but one ticket in the field a ticket made up of rep resentatives from both factions and the vote was light. Better Tlinn Spanking. Spanking does not cum children of bed-wetting. There is a constitution al cause for this trouble. Mrs. it Summers, Box W, Notre Dame, lnd will send free to any mother her suc cessful Instructions. Send no money but wrl'e her today If your children trouble in tbm way. Don't biauu the child, the chances are It cam help It. ' This treatment also cures adults and aged people troubled with urine difficulties, by day or night. : The Bachelor's Cupboard" I At Ferguson's Notice Is hereby given that on the 7th day of December, ISOff, I took up while running at large In the city of La Grande, Or., the following de scribed animals, to-wlt: One red and white cow, S or 4 years old; brand resembling H on left hip; ear marks, square crop off left ear; square crop off and underblt and slit In right ear; marked with three du laps; impounded December 7.
