Ashland Is especially prosperous and happy. A lino of shade trees to the number of 400 have been planted on either side of the boulevard, leading from the city to the Normal school and new residences are encroaching upon surrounding orchards. Astoria covered herself with glory, affording her citizens and visitors re served seats to witness the passing of the fleet. Excursion parties from California, Washington and Idaho will be added to those which come from all points In Oregon to Portland during the Rose festival.
