Practically, every proprietor of a store of any description In this city, has signed the pledge to work against in temperance at the coming election. The largest manufacturing enterprises In the county ore there; from them down to the corner ggocer, the names appear. That one article alone tells what a hold the dry county movement has gained In this city and, In fact, all the leading cities and towns of the Italley. Pretty Florence Ferrian, aged 20, committed suicide this morning because her father re fused to abandon the fanatical religion of "Parhamltes." Continually haunt ed by dreams of her father writhing In a sea of brimstone, she feared In sanity and begged her parent to drop the religion. Upon his refusal to do so she dank wood alcohol and jumped Into Lake Michigan. Miss Ferrian Is an acquaintance of Chester Brown, who was electrocuted for the murder of "Billy" Brown.
