The organisation will have the wnerewltnal to ao this thing, to a greater or leas extent, and there la ample apace for the "things" "which The citizens of La Grande should give the band their hearty support. A good bund Is an actual necessity to a live city or town. " And the only way to have a band Is to give it the sup port It is JuBtly entitled to. La '..'.itindc has no reuxon to be ashamed of Its bund, but, on the other hand, has every reason to point to lt with pride. No one denies this fact. This ''k we had an opportunity to ex press our appreciation of our band In a substantial manner and at the same time secure full value for our money, but we failed to take advantage of the opportunity and thereby lost ,the pleasure of the consciousness of hav ing performed our duty and of hav ing rendered assistance to a worthy objettf. We also failed to avail our selves of the opportunity to witness an exhibition which was well worth, i.o small price asked. In fact, we lost a double opportunity, one of rendering the band the support It deserved, and the opportunity offered to meet half way the "Patronize Home Industry" spirit which the friends of the band o cordially evinced.. We truly hope that the double service will be main tained. Once before this service was given, but for some reason It was dls continued.
