Crews are not to be tied up unless it Is apparent that the trip cannot be completed within the lawful time, and not then until after the expiration of 14 hours on duty under federal law or within two hour? of the time limit provided by state laws. If state laws govern. Crews tied up by a less number of hours thar mentioned above are to be regarded as tied up under the law, and will be paid. , . Whi crews are tied up between terminals under the law tney rc t be considered on duty and under pay Immediately upon the expiration of the minimum legal period off duty ap pllcable to the crew, provided the period of rent for any member, eight or 10 hours, be the period of rest for the entire crew. The company, during the past win ter, shipped from the Hall ranch, 'mong other things, 200 tons of hay nd five cars of barley, all of which was loaded on the cars right at the ranch. Labor Is reported plentiful on the sugar farms this year a condition most gratifying to the sugar company. Everything now points to a most uiccessful season on the big farms, the plans contemplating smaller acreage to the man and better cultivation. Messrs.
