Caspar was down from North Powder Monday. Mr. Caspar expects to milk 15 or SO cows this season. Last year he milked 12 cows and made $481.07 out of the hunch, In butter fat alone, to say nothing ot the increase and skim. milk. He has 240 acres ot leased land just across the line tn Baker county one-fourth mile from North Powder. Mr. Caspar will go to Portland soon, at which time he expects to Investigate a new milking machine and may buy one. At the mass meeting last eve' ning tne committee reported money coming in rapidly and still more to hear from. With $4948 on their list, as shown by the subscription pub llshed below, the committee preferred to retire In favor of one appointed by the new board of managers, which waa selected last evening.
