A. county convention for Union county commenced today at Island City. The county was well rep resented and many matters of Inter est to the members were discussed. After the usual business of the con vention was transacted the session took up the matter of holding a M. W. A. picnic to which all the Modern Wood men in the county should be Invited. Cove was selected as the place, and the latter part of July as the time. This will be made the greatest day of the year so far as Woodmen are con cerned. The exact date will be an nounced as soon as the committee can arrange matters. The convention selected Fred B. Currey of the La Grande camp, as the county representative at the state camp, which will meet next May In Ashland. The next convention will be held In La Grande. FVNEIIAL TOMORROW. The funeral of the late Mrs. Mary Ella, beloved wife of John Collier, will be held tomorrow afternoon at i o'clock from St. Peter's church, Rev. Upton 11. Glbbs officiating. The in terment will be In the Masonic ceme tery. Friends desiring to view the remain; may do so by calling at the family home on Park street, between First and Pecond, tomorrow afternoon.
