BLUE MOUNTAIN CREAMERY CO, LA GRANDE OREGON : I -J V-;( Do Osteopaths treat skin diseases? In deed, Yes. And they treat them in a manner so rational, so well within the comprehension of the patient, so certain to be beneficial that their method is with out a doubt the way par excellence. It is generally recognized by authorities that skin troubles are the result of some other evil condition in the body usually a bad condition of some one or more J the excretory orgjns or else they result from a local disturbance of the blood circula tion. Some times causes of both these kinds are operative. ' In the vast majority of eruptions it is quite safe to say that what is coming out through the skin is simply doing ro be cause the organs designed to carry it off from the body are behind with their work. The skin normally has a vast amount of excretory work to do; but, when the liver, or kidneys, or intestines art unequal to their share in the removal of waste from the body, the skin is apt to be called upon for an amount of work that -it is unable to perform in its usual way and we have u eiuHwOiu II ii j iistis;;!; fr!;r!, "In currence, simply indicating that the body it making a determined effort to get rid of what it ought to be rid of. The Osteopath always looks for trouble with the excretory organs in these cases and usually finds it and succeeds in "cor recting it He is thus getting at the root of the evil; and when the work of excre tion is again being car tied on In the nor mal way the abnormal effort to accomplish excessive excretion through the skin ceases. . The number of cases in which the trouble is solely a local one is not great in comparisoa to the number in whjch the other excretory organe are at least partly at fault It is circulation that is at fault; and the natural question that arises is a to what is interfering with the circulation to the particular part affected. Circula tion ie under control of nerves; and the Osteoyath knows just where to look for misadjustments that could affect the nervee controlling circulation to the part. This knowledge of the nerves that con trol circulation, of the various ways in which they may beinteifered with In their work, and of the mechanical means of don rag away with these Interferences, is the secret of much of the Osteopath's success in treating skin diseases, just as it is the secret of his success in the treatment of many other kinds of disease. , . , This exclusively Osteopathic work Is of course acc:mpanied by needful instruc tions as to diet, bathing, etc; and the re sults are excellent Right Way.
