The approach of cold weather in the east, the completion of the harvest in the Dakotas snd Minnesota, combine to drive the mid dlewest hobo to the coast. Consequently the Pacific coast will be flooded with Weary Willies for the coming few month The migration was noticeable last even ing. Passenger number S brought in its quota of tramps, at least five climbing off the "blind" and rods. The Grande Ronde valley's thrift and pleasant environment seemed to have reached the ears of the tramp world too. Even from the west '" last evening, five tramps arrived. TheJ. 4 ..'.', ' r police of the city was hurried to the limit" ' to arrest and hurry out of town, the va grants. Seven arrests had been made byEREND E. B. HAYS 2 o clock. At that hour the district Tfere" a harmony of hammers. There's a symphony of sound In the akin' and the scrapin' Aud the clearin' of tne ground; There's new foundations started While the old ones yet are hot. There's ten thousand men regaimn' What they had but haven't got. ' There's a thousand head of horses A cartin' dirt away. There's a thousand teams a t'jggin' And a bnngin' stuff to stay. And everybody's a: it Excepnn'. Well, a few. Who had to lay them down and rest From doin' work fcr two. There's shirt sleeves everywhere you go. Top boots and overalls. And the men are a scrapin' With their backs agin the walls. A workin' and a starvm And a buildin' up a t- wn That no strength of future furies Can nver batter down. So There's a harmony of .hammers. There's a symphony of sound. There's a hell's mint pile of work to do But there's no one standin' 'round. We Mean: BnsrxKsa WE ARE HERE FOR KEEPS AND DON'T YOU FORGET.
