Washington. D. C August 16. The
naval constructors are much interested in
seeking the old plans and other informa
tion relating to the frigate Constitution,
which is to be restored at the Boston
Navy Yard to a condition and appearance
as nearly resembling the ship as first
planned as possible. The original plans
long ago disappeared. They were prob
ably destroyed by much handling as was
often tie case with such papers. The
Arstcopy is still in existence, and is be
lieved to be authentic, although there was
o--such thing as tracing in those early
itimes. These plans were found some
.years ago in a library in Philadelphia, and
delivered to the Bureau of Construction
and Repair. They had evidently been
handed around from one to another per
son as of no special value, even in an his
toric way. The officers of today say it
probably never occurred to the persons
who possessed the plans that there would
ever beany use for them in a construction
way. The only information now missing
is concerning the figurehead of the ship.
Upon that point, opinions differ, some of
the officers holding that the ship carried
merely a scroti, and others, that it was
on an elaborate design. There will he
conscientious care taken to restore the
Old Constitution as she was in her prime

licensa, set a movement on foot whereby
the prasent Synearson road on the north
side of the rivar is to be discontinued and
a new road built on this side, commencing
.at cne nead of Marion street.
The present read was not sufficiently

.fit to make this change. The county road
viewers will meet on the 24th of August
to via w and lay put this proposed road. It
will, according to present plans, commence
at the end of Marion Street and follow up
the river on the south side until it inter
sects with the old Rynearson road at Oro
dell. To insure a road for ranchers on
the north side and also for their own use,
the Palmer Lumber Company will con
struct a road from the Rynearson road at
a pointnearer the Rynearson residence,
south to the river and build a bridge so
that when completed the present road
will turn at the Rynearson house and
come south so as to connect with Marion
I Street.
I Then from the point where the new road
J is to meet Marion Street, the new county
j road will begin. After the proper pro
j cedure has been adhered to, the old road,
which has done service so many years!
j will be discontinued, and all residents who
live on the north side can use the pro-
posed bridge for an entrance way to this
city.
