THE OLD HOME OF THE LA GRANDE NATIONAL BANK. t, ,J V- : ! F. L. MEYERS Saturday morning the corner stone of the new La Grande National Bank balding was placed in position. In this stone was placed the various paters, pictures, documents and coins which were taken from the corner itont of the old building which was removed to make room for the modern building now in course of construction, and alio the names of the present stockholders and offisers together with cop'ts of the local papers gf the county and the leading publications of the state. The eorner stone now Contain the names of the original officers and" stock holders together with the pictures of former cashier J. M. Church and the present staff. The new building when completed will he one of the finest and most modern ba king homes in the state. It will be a structu -e of which the bank itself may justly feel proud, and one which every citizen of this city may point to with pride. We feel that at this time it is fitting that the picture of the old building, whxh for years was a land mark of this city, should be published with the picture of the former cashier, Hon. J. M. Church, who for so long held the interests of this city and county so close to his heart, also the pictures of the new building ' and the present cashier, Mr. F. L. Meyers, who is so ably carrying on the work of community advancement. Both men are too well known to need introduction or euolgy. The new building was designed by Architect R. N.
