AM PISTOL VICTIM The deadly toy pistol reaped its first victim bunday in the death of e.ght-year-old Johnny W:ley, living at 1907 Ninth street. The boy was playing with the death bringing toy about a weak ago at his home when in discharging the cap he received a wound in his hand and lockjaw rapidly developed. The boy was taken to St. Elizabeth hospital where all efforts to save him from the. deadly tetanus were in vain. Death came about 5 o'clock Sunday morning. The pistol, the instrument of death. was one of those small affairs made to shoot blank cartridges, with one of these in his gun the child was playing. In snooting tne pistol he received the dis charge in the palm of his left hand. The funeral occurred this afternoon at 3 o'clock at the family residence. Rev. Finger of the M. E. Church officiating Interment was made in Mt. Hope ceme- ery. Dr. Parker, who attended tha Datient says that symptom, of lock-jaw were noticeable last Friday night, about a week after the accident, and he telegraphed at once to Portland for certain medicine. which arrived yesterday mornino a couple of hours after the boy had died. ur. Karker says the discharee of tha tnv pistol was directly responsible for the death of the little boy and he says par ents should be mighty careful about let ting their children play with these instru ments. This is the second case of lock jaw which has come under Dr. Parker's notice since his residence on the Pacific coast Baker City Herald. S. is composed, and the method of com bining and preparing them so that they gently and pleasantly build up and strengthen every part of the body, make it the ideal tonic for a disordered condition of the system. Every one feels the need of a tonic sometimes. The tivsteiu seems to get "out of gear, "the appetite becomes fickle, the energies are depressed, sleep is not restful or refreshing, and the entire body has a nervous, worn-out feeling. When the system is in this depleted, run down condition it must be aided by a tonic, and S. S. S. is recognized every where as the standard. Being made entirely of roc Ls, herbs and barks selected for their gentle action as well as their invigorating effect on the system, it will not disagreeably affect anv of the delicate as do most of the so-called tonics on the market which conUn potash or some ethtir harmful mineral ingredient. These derange the btomach and digestion, unfavorably affect the bowels or otherwise damage the health. S. S. S. tones up the stomach and digestion, improves the appetite, produces """"" .-Mi-ep, riu.t uuf oouy 01 mat ureu, rua-down teehng, and supplies tone and vigor to the entire System.
