CHRISTIANS WIN , The Central Church Sunday School ooys proved too big' and strong for the Methodists this morning, and they roiled up scores at will. The Blue Mountain boys held even for three innings when the Improvement boys took a lively spurt and completley snowed under their small opponents. The score was 28 to 0. The batteries were: B. M. A. C. , Grady and Louis, B. I. A. C. , Meyers and Ralston. ' The Christians will journey to Island City this afternoon where they will en deavor to vanquish a boys' team there. NO GAME TOMORROW There will be no game tomorrow, as Manager Heisner has been unable to get a team here. Negotiations have been going on with Elgin, but the game finally fell through. PURCHASING HORSES Several head of draft horses have been purchased in Elgin the past few days by Messrs Erickson and Peterson, the con tractors, for use in the completion of the railroad to Wallowa county. Excellent prices are being realized for this class of horses but the supply is becoming rather limited. Elgin Recorder. FOREST EXAMINATIONS The United States Civil Service Com mission announces an examination at Portland. Roseburg. La Grande and Prineville, Oregon on the 14th, of May.
