Kiddie and wife, and Frank Davis spent Thanksgiving with Wm. Allison and wife in La Grvide. The U. G. Couch household were Thanksgiving guests of Mr. and Mrs. Willard Couch at Ladd Canyon. Mr. and Mrs. George Holmes and children of Cove spent Thanksgiving with the F. J. Holmes family. Mrs. Olive Johnston of La Grande was a dinner guest Thursday, of Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Bidwell. Sulla Hunter and Netta Kiddle visited Union friends several days last week. Mrs. Ben Brown at the present writing is reported so much improved as to lie able to sit up and to dispense with night watchers. x The young folks went to Summervilfe. Thursday night for a sleigh ride, and had, as they always do on such occasions, a jolly good time. Mr. James Bater, the Union miller, is an Island City visitor. : Summerville News Miss Ida Wade, of Walla Walla, is visiting her brother Mr. Irwin Wade. Mise Vera Aldrid left Tuesday for Salt Lake. Mrs. Ella Hunter was in La Grande Tueadav and Wednesday. - -. Mrs. N. I. Choate has returned to her home from a visit to Nevada.' Mrs. Elsie Murchison left Wednesday evening for La Grande. There will be a chicken pie supper in Wade Bros' store Saturday night Every Doay come. There has been good sleighing for about a week but the warm winds . have taken the snow away. The singing school meets every Sat urday night. Mrs. Collins and family and Miss D. S. Wall returned home Sunday from Wallowa where they eper.t Thanksgiving.
