I 1 - - - Brother Arrived ESCH-TOWNSEND BILL TO BE AMENDED Tcwnsend Extends Scope of the Railway l ate Bill (Scripps News Association) Washington. Dec. 6. Congressman .Townsend introduced in the house today bill amending the Esch-Townsend bill which passed the house at the last sess ion. He still has the support of the ad ministration. The bill today follows the lines of the last, making clearer the in tention of the act It includes private refrigerator car lines. It increases the Interstate Commerce Commission to seven, ..salaries of $10,000 each and viva ' Commission power to declare and order a maximum rate. The manner of an annul to the supreme court - i specified. The bill also provides for the Inspection of the . books and accounts of the railroads. 1 . In addition to last yaar's bill, h!a ; ublis ; ity feature gives the commission Jurisdic tion over the terminal charges..
