Mr. and Mrs. Ed Leonard of Scappoose were visiting in fct. Heleus during the week. H. C. Wood, a prominent farmer of the Deer Island neighborhood, was transacting business in St. Helens Tuesday. At this meeting Gover nor West will tell all about his re cent tour of the East and the ad vantages which the state will pro bably derive from the trip. Nowhere else can you secure such high quality goods at such rare prices as at Wellington's. Fred Abbott and J. L. Chit tern have purchased and have on hand the latest machine for making mor tar blocks and cement brick. They have made a number of the blocks and brick at their temporary quarters in the Watters Barn on Willamette Street and any person intending to build any kind of a building should not fail to see them. The blocks are 8 x i x 11 inches and will be sold at the excedingly low price of 22 cents each. At this price there is no reason for any one not having a first claM basement.
