Columbia County has the three best dairy herds in the Stute and the county exhibit will get credit lor them in making up the points. With our dairy stock, fish, minerals, timber and agricultural pro ducts, there i no reason why we should not secure one of the prite offered by the Kxpotltion Coinmllon. After hard work on the part of Mr. Swell and daughter, "Grandpa" Richardson and son Tom were awakened, but the only way Tom conld get Mis Lewi was to break down the door to her bedroom, which was lock ed. In about ten minute the house wa burned to the ground and in another forty minutes the house of John Morris and L. Swett were also laid low. It took hard work to save Ole Laughlin't boua )ut acroa tbe street. Tbe beat was terrific. Nothing at all was saved from Richardson' bouse. A few thing were saved Iroui the bouse of John Morris and L. Swett, but the heat scorched tbem making tbem practically worthies. .
