A murderer’s widow tries to make sense out ct her husband's seemingly pointless act. The IIm is the description of a woman’s achievement of grace and the modem world. "Wood" is Werner Herzog's documentary on language at its craziest and most beautiful: the high-speed incantations of livestock auctioneers, filmed at the Pennsylvania Works Championship. Orson Welles wrote and directed "The TriaT based on Ka/ka's novel. Anthony Perkins plays Joseph K, a man in a nameless country arrested for a crime that is never explained to him. In "The Stranger," Marcello Mastrioianni plays an alienated man whose perception of a The Place will feature BektraiAsylum recording artist Dirk Hamilton Saturday night at 9:30. Hamilton "enjoyed himself into an artist' by fstening to the Beatles, the Stones, Dylan, country blues singers, and poets, especially e.e. cummings, while growing up in Calfomia. He began the bar circuit at an early age and recorded two albums for ABC Records. His latest effort is entitled "Meet Me At The Crux," which Dirk says is his best album so far. At about 1500 B.C., a violent volcanic eruption occurred on the island of Thera in the Aegean Sea. At this time, just as in the case of Pompeii and the other Roman towns around Mt. Vesuvius, the entire Bronze Age settlement on Thera was buried by volcanic ash. Prof, lakovidis, one of the world's leading Bronze Age ar chaeologists, promises to give in his lecture "a survey of the research done on Thera, of the civiliza tion uncovered there, and of the answers the exca vation provides to some of the questions related to the Aegean in the Bronze Age." After the sculpture is finished, plaster or cement is poured. Her sardcastings are usually of waterfowl, birds and owls, and their surrounding habitat. About her watercolors, DeYoung says, "They are a result of a need for a spontaneous expression for the bird forms. Texture and feeling are a concern." Thru April 30.
