Silbur has recently returned from the People’s Republic of China. His talk will deal with current developments there, as well as Chinese foreign policy, with particular emphasis on the Sino-Soviet conflict, relations between China and the United States and China’s relationship to other “third world” countries and the Middle East situation. Public involvement in the early stages of the planning process, which will establish Forest Service management policies and objectives for the Willamette, is scheduled between now and December 3rd. In an effort to obtain public participation in the planning process, University students Fred Swanson and Gayle Landt have organized a public work session to be held today. The session will run from 7 to 10 p.m. at Harris Hall, 8th and Oak streets in Eugene. “Issues and concerns” response forms prepared by the students will be available to facilitate public participation. Landt said that thirty minutes to an hour of an individual’s time would be enough to make a valid contribution.
