Karnes, training offi cer in charge of Oregon’s veterans administration. Under the new regulatiphs, vet erans will receive subsistence pay ments for the full enrollment cer tified t.o VA by the University pro viding there are no more than 15 days between terms. No leaves oth er than one 15-day vacation at the end of the current school year will be authorized. ~ During the past years, the Uni versity was required to make af firmative Reports on conduct, pro gress, grades and attendance and these reports were used as a basis for making the subsistence allow ance. Under the new regulations, only unsatisfactory progress or in terruptions of training will be used for decreasing the allowance of any veteran. The new leave provisions will not apply to veterans interrupting their training before the end of a term. In such cases, authorization for payments will end on the date training was stopped.
