Owen Allen in charge. Money raised from this party i to help pay for a projector for the school. HAS CARD PARTY For the evening pinochle play, Owen Allen won men's first prize; Mrs. Newton Treadway, ladies first; and Lloyd Thornton, the low and door prize. Mr. and Mrs. Warren House holder and family, Elizabeth Anne, Larry and James, were hosts to Mr. and Mrs. Owen Tiller from Port Orford, Wash.; and Mr. and Mrs. Loyd Pope and two children, Mary Helen and Preston, from Camas Valley. Visiting was enjoy ed during the afternoon. . Mr. and Mrs. John Lancaster and children, Margaret and Sher ry, were accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Les Daniels and the two la dies' mother, Mrs. Eva Hunt, to Albany where uiey spent nioiner Day visiting Mr. and Mrs. John Koos. Mrs. Hunt stayed for a few weeks' visit with her daughter. Honorins Mrs. C. E. Mrs. William Cooper was honor ed with gifts and messages from her family. Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas arrived in Dillard Friday night at the home of the former's brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Bratsch and son, Gene. OFFICERS ELECTED AT RAINBOW CLUB MEET The Rainbow Garden Club held an election of officers at the meet ing Tuesday at the home of Mrs. Neba Conrad on Lookingglass Rd. The nominating committee: Mrs. Myrtle McAlpine, Mrs. M a y m e Manske and Mrs. Blanche Tipton, submitted their report, which was accepted. Mrs. Nancy Linna was elected president; Mrs. Neva Con rad, vice president; and Mrs. Dec la Taylor, secretary and treasur er. Mrs. Connie Nelson received the information for the year books, which she is compiling. The highlight of the afternoon was the planning of the jpstalla tion meeting. It was decided to meet Tuesday, May 24, at the home of Mrs. Connie Nelson at 11 o'clock. Installation of officers will be held. The group will then go to Ford's for a luncheon celebration. A beautiful new gavel was made and presented to the president by Mrs. Neva Conrad. The next field day was planned at the home of Mrs. Decla Taylor June 21 at 10 o'clock. RECEPTION TO HONOR HARRY HAMPTONS SUNDAY EVENING ( The Rev. and Mrs. Harry Hamp ton will be honored at a reception Sunday evening from 7 to 8 o'clock at the First Presbyterian Church. At eight o'clock the choir will pre sent a program. The Rev. Mr. Hampton is assistant pastor of the church. All members oj the con gregation and friends are most cor riialiy invited to attend the reception. SUTHERLIN LADY LIONS SET SATURDAY CARD PARTY The second of a series of card parties, given by the Lady Lions, was held Friday evening at t h e Eagles Hall. These parties are giv en to raise money for the Lady Li on's project, the State Blind School at Salem. Contract bridge was in play dur ing the evening with Mr. and Mrs. Lloyal Stearns, winning high score. The couple having tne highest score for the three parties will win the sweepstakes prize. After the card play, refresh ments were served by Mrs. Joan Taylor, Mrs. Vi Hubbell, Mrs. Faith Thompson, Mrs. Helen Kes- I ner, Mrs. Gertrude Sechawer and : Mrs. Letha Barnes. The next party is planed fori Saturday, May 14; place to be an- i nounced later. POTLUCK LUNCHEON EVENT AT FAIR OAKS . . Twenty one members and a guest, Mrs. Thelma W'lliams, en joyed a delicious potluck dinner Thursday, when the Fair Oaks In dustrial Club met at the clubhouse with Mrs. Flossie Sheffel and Mrs. Batman as hostesses. Ptctty spring flowers formed a centerpiece for the table. The usual business was transact ed with the president, Gwen Web ber, presiding. A discussion on buying new silverware and coffee pots was held. It was decided to ha''e a white elephant sale and potluck supper for members and their husbands Friday, June 10. The aftert-oon was spent in sewing on a quilt. The next regular mce:ing of the club will be Thursday, June 2. COUNTRY CLUB ANNUAL SPRING DANCE TO BE HELD SATURDAY NIGHT The annual spring formal dance for members of the Roseburg Coun try Club and their invited guests will be a large and charming af fair of Saturday night, May 14, at 9:30 o'clock at the clubhouse. Mrs. Emil Ramberg, Mrs. Kenneth Bai ley, Mrs. Byron Woodruff and Mrs. Spencer Yates are in charge of the affair, which will carry out the "vacation" theme. FOOD HABITS IS TOPIC AT 4-H MEET The Garden Valley Sour Doughs met recently at the home of the leader, Addie Schneider. I .The 4-H club pledge was lead by Brent Claypool.
