Kane St., Rose burg, was taken to Sacred Heart Hospital in Eugene Tuesday night to receive medical attention for a fractured right leg. He was first taken to Mercy Hospital for emer gency treatment. Transferred Captain and Mrs. Donald Morgan and daughter, Stephanie, recently moved to Mon terey from San Francisco, where he has been stationed since return ing to the States from Japan, fol lowing three years' service. Amiot of Roseburg will leave next Tuesday for Sac ramento, Calif., to visit their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. James Lorigan, and family, and on Oct. 29 will go to Menlo Park to attend the wedding ot Larry Hen ninger, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Henninger of- this city, to Amber Spinning, which will take place at the Episcopal Church there. Return From Trip Mr. and Mrs. Ray Petrequin and Mrs. Amy Seeley returned to their home on Critser Road Monday from an enjoyable trip to Chehalis, Wash., where they visited ' Mrs. Louis Miller, former Melrose resident. Also, they visited at Sandy with Mr. and Mrs. Ed Sindt, and in Portland with Mr. and Mrs. Hen ry Critser. They stayed overnight at Taft and drove down the coast en route home. Return To California Tom Dillard and daughter, Molly, re turned over the weekend to Mar tinez, Calif., after visiting a week in Roseburg with the former's par ents, Dr. and Mrs. Louis Dillard. Go To Portland Mrs. Bert Griffin and daughter, Louise, left today lor roruano, wnere tney will visit the latter's godparents. Mr. Griffin will meet them in Eu gene Sunday and bring them back borne. Visiting Hero Mr. and Mrs. Ed Krause of Fremont, Mich., have arrived in Roseburg to spend two weeks visiting the latter's brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Williams, 1615 Walnut St. Visit At Tacoma Sheriff and Mrs. Cal Baird and their son Cal Jr. and Miss Peggy Davie spent last weekend in Tacoma, where the latter attended the wedding of a friend and Mrs. Baird visited her father, John Hanlin. They re turned to Roseburg Monday eve ning. - To Attend Conference Eugene H. Fisher, . Oakland, president of the Roseburg National Farm Loan Assn., will spend the weekend in Spokane, where he will attend the fifth annual conference of NFLA representatives. He is also chairman of the NFLA advisory committee and will be one of the conference speakers. Loavo For Oregon City Mr. and Mrs. Vilas Philippi of Rose burg left this week for Oregon uiiy to visit relatives oeiore leav ing from Portland Saturday for Hawaii, the Fiji Islands, New Zeal land and Australia. They may go on to Hongkong, Manila and .la- fian also, but haven't made defin t plans as to the latter part ot their vacation as yet. Visitors Arrive Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Carl of Onaga, Kan., have arrived in Roseburg to visit the former's twin brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Carl, at 845 Mill St. The two' families spent yesterday in Grants Pass visiting and attending to business. Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Carl moved here about a month ago from Grants Pass. Mr. and Mrs. Wade Gentry were the inspiration for a lovely house warming party Saturday evening when a group of friends call ed at their new home in Dillard. A potluck dinner was served early in the evening; games and visiting followed. Many lovely gifts were presented the honored guests for their new home, wmcn was bunt by Martin Halvcrson of Dillard. The prayer was led by Mrs. Dorothy Papst, chaplain, after which, the flag presentation was held and the group sang the Star Spangled Banner. Master James Combs welcomed the group and introduced the dis tinguished guests, William Howes, state overseer; and Carl Young ren, county deputy. The national master's address and the state master's address were read by secretary, Guy Moore. Mr. Moore also gave a report on the projects undertaken by the grange mem bers for the community for the year 1954. A tableau was present ed. After the program, refresh ments were served. They visited his aunt at Poulsbo, Wash,, which is near Bremerton, and points of interest in that vi cinity. Doing Nicely Jenny P. Mc Cieary, 75, of 515 S. Stephens St., Roseburg, is reported doing nicely at Douglas Community Hospital, where she was taken Tuesday morning to receive medical atten tion for a fractured left hip. First St., Roseburg, is returning to Roseburg the Utter part of the week, fol lowing a vacation in California, In James Goodman, Leo Rapp and Lawrence (Okie) Taggart. all for mer residents of Roseburg. He also visited relatives and friends in Los Angeles and drove up High way 101 to Shell Beach, where he spent a few days at the James Goodman home.
