Kowalewskl 3-8020 D'AL i-ibSl Arizona Prison Escapee On Most Wanted List WASHINGTON I John Alfred Hopkins, convicted murderer who escaped from the Arizona state prison last Nov. 10, was added Tuesday to the FBI's list of "10 Most Wanted Men." Hopkins. 38, is described by the FBI as a dangerous gunman who started his criminal career as a burglar when he was only 17. He has since been arrested many times and has served two jail terms in California for forgery and car theft. When Hopkins escaped from the Arizona penitentiary, he : had served about eight years of a life sentence for the 1945 killing of a police officer at Wickenburg, Ariz. The offiatr had surprised him as he .was burglarizing a drug store. Hopkins, a native ot hnokane. Foreign Ships Protest Hauling Cargoes Of Aid WASHINGTON I - Seven Wen European countries with big mer chant fleets have protested against legislation requiring that American ships must carry at least half of foreign aid cargoes. Countries sending in written complaints to the State Depart ment include Britain, Italy, West Germany, The Netherlands, Nor way, Sweden and Denmark. An eighth, Finland, is reported pre paring to add its protest. All these governments nave said the legislation sponsored by Sen.
